The finalists for the Deep Tech Award 2026 have been announced

Brain City Berlin is a popular destination for deep tech startups, whose highly innovative technologies are rooted in scientific breakthroughs and intensive research, with the aim of solving global challenges such as climate change, health risks and energy supply. On 20 May, as part of the Deep Tech Momentum conference in Berlin, this year's Deep Tech Award will be presented. Here are the finalists.

As a hotspot for technological innovation, Brain City Berlin is the ideal setting for an award that recognises outstanding companies shaping the future. This year, 15 finalists are competing across five categories, offering a vivid demonstration of just how diverse and dynamic the deep tech scene in the capital has become. Topics range from artificial intelligence and quantum technologies to advanced manufacturing.

The finalists of the Deep Tech Award 2026

Artificial Intelligence

  • LiveEO GmbH: The startup uses AI and satellite data to monitor infrastructure such as high-voltage power lines and surrounding trees, providing precise analyses for sectors including energy, mobility and agriculture, and helping to prevent wildfires and power outages with minimal use of resources.
  • Gretchen AI GmbH: Gretchen AI develops cutting-edge AI to detect deepfakes and fake news and reconstruct their distribution history, enabling major media organisations to carry out fact-checks up to 500% faster.
  • Accessful GmbH: Accessful GmbH offers an application that automatically converts non-machine-readable PDF documents into accessible formats, making information easier to access for people with disabilities and other limitations.

Web3 & Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLT)

  • NYALA Digital Asset AG: NYALA focuses on the tokenisation of real-world assets. Its platform makes it easier for companies and investors to access digital financial instruments and supports the transformation of traditional markets.
  • Decen Space UG: The startup develops Web3-based solutions for decentralised, secure data coordination between satellites and ground stations, enabling more efficient use of high-value satellite infrastructure.
  • Bitbond GmbH: Bitbond offers a modular platform for creating tokens on various blockchains, allowing users without development expertise to distribute tokens on a blockchain.

Bio & Healthtech

  • Blueprint Biomed GmbH: Blueprint Biomed is developing a biodegradable  implant for use in larger bone fractures, eliminating the need for artificial implants and multiple surgical interventions.
  • CARTemis Therapeutics GmbH: The startup focuses on immuno-oncology, developing cancer therapies based on the body's own T-cells.
  • MyoPax GmbH: MyoPax is working on novel cell therapies and gene corrections for the regeneration of muscle tissue, addressing severe muscle injuries and diseases and opening up promising new treatment options for patients.

Quantum Technologies, Photonics & Microelectronics

  • Rydberg Photonics GmbH: Rydberg Photonics is developing advanced photonic systems designed specifically for mobile quantum applications, creating new possibilities for industry-ready quantum-based solutions.
  • Xavveo GmbH: The startup is working on photonic radar sensors that set new benchmarks in navigation and measurement technology, enabling previously unattainable levels of precision.
  • Watergenics GmbH: Watergenics places real-time water quality analysis at the heart of its photonic solutions, helping to detect environmental changes at an early stage and supporting the sustainable management of water resources.

Advanced Manufacturing

  • Endless Industries GmbH: Endless Industries is revolutionising the manufacture of fibre composite materials through a 3D printing solution that replaces complex and costly production processes and reduces waste.
  • Ailoys GmbH: Ailoys develops sensors for AI-assisted real-time quality control, significantly reducing reject rates and enabling early defect detection in processes such as copper wire manufacturing.
  • SOLYCO TECC GmbH: SOLYCO TECC replaces conventional processes in solar panel manufacturing, making solar production more cost-effective, energy-efficient and environmentally friendly.

About the award

The Deep Tech Award carries a total prize fund of 50,000 euros. One winning company is recognised in each of the five categories, receiving prize money of 10,000 euros. In addition to the financial support, winners benefit from high visibility and a strong network within Brain City Berlin's innovation scene.

This year, the award ceremony will take place as part of the Deep Tech Momentum conference on 20 May 2026 at the Wilhelm Studios in Berlin. Deep Tech Momentum is Europe's leading platform bringing deep tech startups together with companies and investors.
