• Berlin's science festival for climate and health: The second Transferale

How can our city become more sustainable, healthier and more resilient? The collaborative project "Zukunft findet Stadt" is hosting the science festival Transferale for the second time, from 29 June to 3 July 2026, bringing together science and practice to explore answers to exactly that question.

Five universities of applied sciences and their practice partners will present projects at the Transferale that open up new perspectives for a future-ready Berlin. At various locations across Brain City Berlin, projects and activities will be showcased that make concrete contributions to a sustainable, healthy and resilient city.

Innovation fund: projects for the future

As part of the Transferale, Zukunft findet Stadt supports innovative projects through its Innovation Fund, focusing on the themes of health, climate, sustainability and resilience, as well as innovative ways of communicating research findings. Selected projects in applied research and university teaching that offer concrete, innovative solutions specifically for Berlin, or that communicate research results creatively, are eligible for funding. Involvement of practice partners and cross-disciplinary, cross-institutional collaboration is explicitly encouraged. Funding of up to 10,000 euros over six months is available for material and/or personnel costs.
