Paris, London, New York, Berlin – as leading centres for creativity and culture, these cities have come together to form the “Global Innovation Collaborative” (GIC). As part of the “Creative Cities Challenge”, the GIC is now looking for innovative solutions that will contribute to the economic strengthening of the culture and nightlife in the Brain City Berlin after the pandemic. The application deadline has been extended unti August 3, 2021.

The Global Innovation Collaborative was launched in March 2021 by Berlin, London, New York and Paris. The aim of this network of cities is to develop solutions that will help the cultural and creative sectors to recover from the economic effects of the Corona crisis. To do so, the GIC uses the knowledge, skills and ingenuity of urban society to develop new tools, systems and approaches. The current challenge is looking for ideas and solutions for all four cities. The results of the parallel locally advertised city competitions will be brought together centrally later.

The GlC is supported by strategic partners such as Bloomberg Associates, Microsoft and Nitrous. The companies provide cities and innovators with benefits in kind, knowledge and expertise and enable them to try out ideas in practice. On the Berlin side, in addition to Berlin Partner for Business and Technology, the Clubcommission Berlin, Kulturprojekte Berlin, media:net berlinbrandenburg, Tech Open Air and visitBerlin are involved.
