    Campus Citizen Science: Artificial Intelligence

On 6 October, the mit:forschen! team invites you to the first Campus Citizen Science event at the Museum für Naturkunde in Brain City Berlin. The new event format is aimed specifically at practitioners. Participation is free of charge, and the registration deadline is 18 September.

ChatGPT, AI agents, surgical robots and autonomous driving – artificial intelligence has long been part of our everyday lives. It is also used extensively in science and research. But how can AI technologies be meaningfully integrated into existing projects? What new forms of participation are emerging as a result of intelligent systems? And where are the ethical, technical or legal limits?

Questions surrounding the use of artificial intelligence in citizen science will be addressed on 6 October at the first Campus Citizen Science. The team behind the citizen science platform ‘mit:forschen!’ is inviting citizen scientists to the event, which will take place in the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin. In addition to a keynote speech by Dr Anna Henschel, editor of wissenschaftskommunikation.de, the programme includes various ‘Think and Try Labs’. In the workshops, amateur researchers can try out for themselves how they can make the best use of AI applications for their purposes. Tips and information will be provided on topics such as the targeted creation of prompts, AI-supported transcription and the application of AI-based analysis methods. There is also a workshop on storytelling and communication strategies. Each workshop will be offered twice. There will also be plenty of opportunity for discussion and networking. At the end of the campus day, participants can take a tour of the museum. Participation in Campus Citizen Science is free of charge. As places are limited, please register as early as possible.

Registration deadline: 18 September 2025
