Asia Pacific Week in April in Berlin – Digitalization in a dialogue between Berlin and Asia
27.03.2018 | The Asia Pacific Week (APW) in Berlin is the most important event in Germany when it comes to economic, scientific, cultural, or political dialogue with representatives and partners from Asia.
The APW takes place from April 23 to 29, 2018 under the motto: “Digitalization” – the global trend of the 21st century. The Asia-Europe Dialogue has been taking place since 1997. The focus is on networking: between innovative start-ups, investors, and industry representatives, as well as medium-sized companies.
April 23 and 24, 2018: Mayor and Economics Senator Ramona Pop will open the Asia Pacific Week 2018. The inauguration and digitalization conferences the following day will be held at the European School of Management and Technology (ESMT). The APW inauguration is all about the “6th Embassy Day Asia-Pacific:” Ten Asian ambassadors will present projects and visions for the future of digitalization to the specialist audience.

April 25 and 26, 2018: The focus is on the topics of the“3rd Connecting Startup Cities” conference (CSC). The associated project StartUp AsiaBerlin (SUAB) was approved by the Senate Department for Economics, Energy, and Public Enterprises of the State of Berlin (SenWEB) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and is supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The background is the strengthening of cooperation between startup hubs from Asia and the Berlin startup landscape.

April 23 to 26, 2018: The venture capital investor program is all about promoting young talent and networking investors and business angels from Asia with startups from Berlin. April 27, 2018: Digitalization satellite events will round out the Asia Pacific Week. The Berlin Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK Berlin) will host a conference on e-mobility and self-driving vehicles. This will be about the model regions selected by the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building, and Urban Affairs (BMVBS) such as Berlin, where electric mobility is about be promoted and tested in equal measure in the form of electric cars and bicycles.
