The next Long Night of the Sciences will take place on June 9, 2018: Around 70 scientific institutions in Berlin and Potsdam are participating and there are more than 2,000 events to discover.

The scientific event has been taking place for 18 years. Every year, visitors get the chance to take a look behind the scenes of Berlin's scientific landscape.

The wide range of courses offered by universities, colleges, research institutes and other scientific institutions is aimed at both young and old.

Experiments - Events - Workshops: The program of the Long Night of the Sciences

 

The 18th Long Night of the Sciences offers a broad program from 5 p.m. to midnight. Among the more than 2,000 events there are about 100 events hosted in English, for instance:

 

  • How do psychologists measure the mind? (Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin)
  • Mechatronics and Artificial Intelligence (Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft (HTW) Berlin)
  • Conflicts of an Urban Age (Technische Universität Berlin)

 

There is also a varied program for kids: from experimenting to science entertainment. 315 events are specially designed for kids, including:

 

  • Of levers, gummy bear seesaws and scales (Physics; TU Berlin)
  • Climate Cinema (Climatology; Potsdam-Institut für Klimafolgenfoschung (PIK))
  • CSI Berlin (Deciphering tracks for children over the age of 10; Oberstufenzentrum (OSZ) Lise-Meitner)
