Science for all – Berlin Science Week brings people together

When international experts from all kinds of different disciplines are invited to speak at science events in Berlin, that can only mean one thing: Berlin Science Week is back.

Since 2016, foundations, organisations and companies have invited visitors for a week of exchanges and networking in the science hub Berlin every year.

Berlin Science Week is not only aimed at researchers – it’s also aimed at anyone who’s enthusiastic about science.

Berlin Science Week brings together all kinds of events: science in all its guises – in the centre of the city, over 10 days. The star power of this science event in the heart of the capital radiates far beyond the German research hub and attracts international luminaries to Berlin.

In 2017, over 50 scientific events took place during Science Week. Famous institutions from the Berlin science scene, including both Berlin universities of excellence – the Free University of Berlin and Humboldt University of Berlin – were involved. The University of Waterloo (Canada, Waterloo), Northwestern University (USA, Illinois) and ETH Zurich (Switzerland, Zurich) were also present as partners. The participation of Prof. W. E. Moerner from Stanford University (winner of the Nobel Prize for Chemistry) highlights Berlin’s reputation as a scientific metropolis in the heart of Europe.
